India's chemical industry to more than double by 2017

India's chemical industry is set to more than double in size to $224 billion by 2017, compared with $108.4 billion at present, and become a major exporter, participants at an industry meeting at Vadodara, Gujarat, were told on Thursday. Inderjit Pal, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals addressed the meeting, which introduced the upcoming India Chem event, due to take place in Mumbai in October.
