Indian Oil to expand linear alkyl benzene capacity

Indian Oil says it is planning to expand linear alkyl benzene (LAB) capacity at its Baroda refinery to meet increasing demand. The exisitng unit, designed to produce 120,000 m.t./year of LAB, is the largest such facility in the country. The company is planning to add 25,000 m.t./year capacity.   The LAB plant, completed in 2004, marked Indian Oil’s entry into petrochemicals. It supplies India’s detergent manufacturers.
