Idemitsu, Mitsui Chemicals, and Kuwait Petroleum proceed with $9-billion Vietnam project

Idemitsu Kosan (Tokyo) says it has reached a final invest decision to proceed with a previously announced refinery and petrochemical joint venture project in Vietnam. The facilities will be built by Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Limited (NSRP) with co-investors Mitsui Chemicals, Kuwait Petroleum International, and PetroVietnam. The joint venture has also signed project financing agreements totaling $5 billion with public financial institutions and commercial banks toward the $9-billion project.
