World News and Views :: Top of the News ICL Reports Lower Net Income; Record Potash, Phosphate Sales Lift Revenues10:38 AM MDT | August 15, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz ICL (Tel Aviv), a leading fertilizers and specialty chemicals producer, today reported a 4% decline in second-quarter net income, to $407.3 million—but near-record sales of potash and phosphate fertilizers raised revenues to $1.965 billion. This compares with revenues of $1.929 billion in the year-earlier period. The company cites higher financial expenses and a higher tax rate, compared with the second quarter of 2011, for the slight decline in net income.
