Hyosung begins production of carbon fiber in Korea using own technology

Hyosung (Seoul) began mass-production of Korea’s first indigenous carbon fiber today, significantly reducing the need for imported material. The company held a commissioning ceremony at the Chonju facility, 240 kilometers southwest of Seoul. Hyosung announced two years ago that it had developed midfunction carbon fiber for the first time in Korea after three years of independent research.
