World News and Views :: Top of the News House Republicans Pass Budget Blocking EPA Climate Regulations9:31 AM MST | February 22, 2011 | Kara Sissell House lawmakers passed a budget bill that includes amendments blocking EPA from regulating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and restricting the agency’s ability to enforce its renewable fuels standard, which mandates gasoline sold in the U.S. contain certain amounts of ethanol. The budget and amendments are part of an effort by Congress to pass an interim budget provision by March 4, but the House bill contains such controversial measures it stands little chance of clearing the Senate or obtaining President Obama’s signature, Washington sources say...
