Government Panel Issues 'Call to Action' for Managing U.S. Shale Gas

A panel convened by the U.S. Department of Energy has released consensus-based recommendations for disclosure and management of shale gas resources that emphasize enhanced data collection and public disclosure. President Obama convened the panel to report on immediate steps that can be taken to improve the safety and environmental performance of shale gas development, DOE says.
