Gevo Seeks Injunction Against Butamax

Gevo (Englewood, CO) says it has filed for a preliminary injunction against Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE) and DuPont “to immediately stop ongoing infringement by Butamax and DuPont” of a Gevo patent covering biobased isobutanol. The filing is the latest in an 18-month patent dispute that has seen both sides file multiple lawsuits. Butamax is a joint venture between DuPont and BP.
