World News and Views :: Top of the News Genencor and Goodyear to Spend More than $50 Million Codeveloping Bio-isoprene Process8:48 AM MDT | September 16, 2008 | Alex Scott in Brussels Danisco’s enzymes technology division Genencor and tire and rubber producer Goodyear today disclosed that they will collaborate on a major project to develop a process for manufacturing isoprene from renewable raw materials. Isoprene, a key ingredient in tires, currently is only produced from crude oil. The firms announced the deal at the European Association for Bio industries’ (EuropaBio) European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology 2008, in Brussels.
