GE and Shenhua to Form Coal Gasification JV

GE and Shenhua Group (Beijing), a coal mining firm, are forming a joint venture to develop and deploy industrial coal gasification technologies, the companies announced today. The companies will sell licenses for the technology, build integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plants and pursue other IGCC projects, as well as conduct joint R&D on coal gasification.
