World News and Views :: Top of the News French Authorities Find Adverse BPA Effects 'Even at Low Levels of Exposure'9:41 AM MDT | October 4, 2011 | Kara Sissell The French national food safety agency Anses (Paris) says it has determined adverse health effects from bisphenol A (BPA) have “been proven in animals and suspected in humans, even at low levels of exposure.” Anses recommends sensitive populations including infants, young children and nursing women, limit exposure to BPA. Anses is seeking input on its findings, and on the safety of potential alternatives to BPA, by the end of November.
