France Nord Consortium Selected for $66-Million Carbon Capture Feasibility Project

France’s environment and energy management agency (Ademe) has selected France Nord, a consortium of several manufacturers from France and across Europe, to undertake a pilot project for testing the feasibility of carbon dioxide capture and storage in the north-central region of France.   The consortium is comprised of French companies Air Liquide; energy firm EDF, GDF Suez, Lafarge, Total, and Vallourec, and research organizations Eifer (Karlsruhe; Germany) and GeoForschungsZentrum (Potsdam; Germany).
