FDA Agrees to Review its BPA Assessment

FDA says has agreed to reevaluate its decision last year that had found bisphenol a (BPA) safe for use in food and beverage containers. The decision comes a day after Representatives Henry Waxman (D., CA) and Bart Stupak (D., MI) sent a letter to the FDA asking it to review the decision due to allegations that the FDA relied heavily on industry funded studies, and allowed industry to do the regulators’ work for them.
