Belgian police say that Nicholas Mockford was shot several times as he left a restaurant with his wife in a suburb of Brussels on 14 October. His wife, Mary, was left beaten and covered in blood, but survived the attack, police say. News of the incident emerged today after police imposed a reporting blackout.
