Exploration and Mining Firm Buys U.K. Potash Company, Eyes 'World-Class' Project

Sirius Minerals (London), a potash exploration and mining company, says it has acquired privately owned York Potash (York, U.K.) for £25 million. The deal gives Sirius access to about 600 sq kilometers of onshore and offshore mineral rights between the coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby, U.K. The mineral rights relate primarily to potash, polyhalite, and rock salt.
