Exempting Industry from Carbon Pricing Would Increase the Cost of GHG Emissions Mitigation by 50%

Exempting energy-intensive industries, including the chemicals sector, from paying for the cost of carbon emissions would increase the overall cost of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission cuts by a half, according to a report published today by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD; Paris).
