Evonik Rides the Economic Storm with Capacity Increases for Isobutene and Methionine

Amid the global economic turmoil and widespread shuttering of chemical plants Evonik Industries has disclosed that it has made a committment to spend tens of millions of dollars to increase production capacity for DL-methionine, and isobutene. Evonik says it plans to triple its isobutene capacity with a new production facility at Antwerp. The plant has a projected annual capacity of 110,000-m.t./year.
