World News and Views :: Top of the News Evonik Builds L-Lysine Capacity in Brazil11:47 AM MDT | June 20, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Evonik Industries says it plans to build a new facility for the biotechnology production of feed amino acid L-lysine in the growth market of South America. L-lysine is an amino acid for animal feed that Evonik markets under the brand name Biolys. Evonik says it is building a new Biolys plant at the production site of Cargill at Castro, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. The plant at Castro is expected to become operational by 2014.
