Evonik Agrees to Buy Excipients Range from Boehringer Ingelheim

Evonik says it has agreed to purchase Boehringer Ingelheim’s Resomer range of polymer-based pharmaceutical excipients. Financial terms were not disclosed. Completion of the transaction is subject to various conditions and closing is expected early March 2011, the companies say. Under the agreement, the entire product portfolio of standard and customized polymers used in the manufacturing of medical devices and pharmaceutical formulations will be transferred to Evonik.
