European authorities seek more safety data on neonicotinoid pesticides

A recent evaluation by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Brussels) says it has found certain gaps in data related to the analysis of potential adverse effects of neonicotinoid pesticides on honeybee populations. The European Commission last April asked EFSA to investigate potential effects of the pesticides on honeybee colonies.
