World News and Views :: Top of the News Europe Slaps Antidumping Duties on VAM Imports from the U.S.1:32 PM MDT | August 17, 2011 | Ian Young The European Commission has imposed provisional antidumping duties on European Union (EU) imports of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) originating from the U.S. Announcement of the measures follows an investigation launched last December by the commission after a complaint from Ineos Oxide and supported by Wacker Chemie. Ineos Oxide, an Ineos subsidiary, accounts for more than 25% of VAM production in the EU, the commission says. The duties affect U.S. VAM producers Celanese, Dow Chemical, and LyondellBasell.
