World News and Views :: Top of the News Europe Okays Perstorp’s Caprolactones Acquisition12:45 PM MST | January 10, 2008 | CW Editorial Staff The European Commission has cleared Perstorp’s planned acquisition of Solvay’s caprolactones business. Perstorp agreed last year to acquire the business for Eu200 million ($285 million). The caprolactones business reported sales of €60 million last year and employs 65, Solvay says. The deal includes a manufacturing plant at Warrington, U.K. Solvay says the caprolactone business “does not result in synergies” with the company’s other chemicals and plastics operations.
