Egyptian Firm Buys Ammonia Terminal at the Port of Rotterdam

Orascom Construction Industries (OCI; Cairo) says its OCI Fertilizer International subsidiary has signed an agreement to acquire Micro Chemie. Micro Chemie owns and operates ammonia storage tanks with combined storage capacity of 30,000 m.t. and has a lease for a terminal at the port of Rotterdam with a permit to receive up to 600,000 m.t./year of ammonia, under a 25-year lease beginning 2002 and extendable for another 25 years after the contract expires.
