Ecolab to Pay $27.6 Million for Class Action Lawsuits

Ecolab says it may have to pay $27.6 million to settle two California class action wage-dispute lawsuits brought by current and former employees of Ecolab’s pest elimination division. The lawsuits allege that Ecolab shorted workers on overtime pay; did not keep proper records on hours worked; and did not comply with California laws governing meal times and accommodations. Ecolab says the ruling is flawed and that it will likely appeal the decision when the arbitrator’s ruling goes before a state court for approval. If upheld, the payment will lower...
