World News and Views :: Top of the News EU and UN to Combine Carbon Credit Registration5:21 AM MDT | August 8, 2008 | Alex Scott The European Union (EU) and the United Nations have disclosed that by year-end they plan to connect their respective systems for registering greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions credits. The connection means that carbon credits issued under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) can be transferred to the registries of EU member states. The EU and UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat say they have completed the testing required to connect the two systems.
