World News and Views :: Top of the News EU Review Finds 51 Potential Endocrine Disruptors Unregulated4:06 AM MST | December 13, 2007 | Alex Scott A six-year review of the European Union’s (EU) chemicals legislation published this week by the European Commission has identified 51 potentially endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) being sold in Europe that are unregulated at the EU-level. The 51 substances are part of a list of 428 substances that are under investigation by the commission for causing endocrine disruption in humans or in the environment. Although the 51 substances are not currently controlled by EU legislation, manufacturers of the substances will be required to secure product approvals...
