EU Competition Commission Raids Ethical Drug Companies

The European Union’s (EU) Competition Commission on January 16 raided the offices of several major ethical pharmaceutical companies as part of an anti-trust investigation into the sector. “The inquiry is a response to indications that competition in the pharmaceutical markets in Europe may not be working well, the commission says. “If innovative products are not being produced and cheaper generic alternatives to existing products are in some cases being delayed, then we need to find out why, and-if necessary-take action,” says Neelie...
