EU Approves German Regional Aid to Wacker

The European Commission has authorized €97.5 million in regional investment aid that the German authorities intend to grant to Wacker Chemie for the production of solar-grade polysilicon at Nünchritz, Germany. The subsidy will help meet the €800-million cost of a previously announced project to build a solar-grade polysilicon plant at Nünchritz.
