EPA proposes 30% cut in power plant emissions

EPA has introduced aggressive plans to cut carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants in a move industry says could lead to higher energy prices and hurt the country’s manufacturing. Under the proposed Clean Power Plan, EPA aims to cut carbon emissions from the power sector by 30% from 2005 levels and reduce particle pollution, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide emissions by more than 25%.
