World News and Views :: Top of the News EFSA Begins Review of BPA with Focus on Low-Dose Effects9:46 AM MDT | April 30, 2012 | Kara Sissell The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Parma, Italy) says it has begun work on a scientific assessment of bisphenol A (BPA) that will focus on the potential for adverse health effects from low levels of exposure. EFSA says it will review all available data scientific studies since 2006, when it published its most recent opinion on BPA. That opinion recommended authorities maintain the tolerable daily intake (TDI) level of 0.05 mg/kg body weight/day for BPA.
