World News and Views :: Top of the News ECHA Lines Up 15 Chemicals for SVHC Listing7:35 AM MDT | September 3, 2009 | Alex Scott The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has this week disclosed that it may add 15 chemicals to the European Union’s (EU) list of substances of very high concern (SVHC). Chemicals placed on this list may be subject to authorization requirements under the Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program. ECHA says nine of the 15 chemicals should be classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic and reprotoxic (CMR) substances.
