DuPont’s Income Rises on Agricultural and Nutritional Unit

DuPont reported second-quarter net income up 11%, to about $1.1 billion ($1.18/share), including a 3-cts/share gain from a favorable tax settlement, on sales up 12%, to $8.8 billion. Local selling prices rose 7%, partially offsetting a 15% increase in raw material, energy, and freight costs, DuPont says.
