DuPont Sues Monsanto Over Seed Production Technique (Updated)

DuPont says it has filed suit against Monsanto, alleging its competitor infringed a patent-protected seed production technique that “increases seed corn vigor to improve germination under stress.” According to the complaint, the patent specifically covers defoliation at a particular stage in development--after pollination but before harvest.
