World News and Views :: Top of the News DuPont Settles Spelter, WV Class Action for $70 Million5:13 PM MST | November 23, 2010 | Kara Sissell DuPont has agreed to settle a West Virginia class action lawsuit for $70 million, including periodic medical testing and check-ups for plaintiffs for a period of 30 years. DuPont operated the zinc-smelting facility at Spelter, WV for 22 years before selling it in 1950 to the Meadowbrook Corp., now defunct. The proposed settlement must first be approved by the Harrison Count,WV circuit court. T.L.
