DuPont Settles Spelter, WV Class Action for $70 Million

DuPont has agreed to settle a West Virginia class action lawsuit for $70 million, including periodic medical testing and check-ups for plaintiffs for a period of 30 years. DuPont operated the zinc-smelting facility at Spelter, WV for 22 years before selling it in 1950 to the Meadowbrook Corp., now defunct.
