World News and Views :: Top of the News Dow Licenses Bayer Polyol Technology5:45 PM MST | November 27, 2007 | CW Editorial Staff Dow Chemical says it has entered into an agreement to license Bayer's patented technology to manufacture polyether polyols. The agreement also gives Dow the right to use a continuous process to produce long-chain polyether polyols. Financial details were not disclosed. Dow says it is evaluating a world-scale production facility based on this technology for startup in 2010. Dubbed Impact, Bayer's technology involves polyoxyalkylation using a special double metal cyanide catalyst. This technology improves the consistency of polyether polyols and reduces waste...
