World News and Views :: Top of the News Dow AgroSciences Buys Dutch Seed Firm9:44 AM MDT | September 5, 2007 | CW Editorial Staff Dow AgroSciences will acquire Dutch seed company Duo Maize (Rossum), which will build on Dow's purchase last year of Maize Technologies International (MTI; Nuesiedl am See), Dow says. The Duo Maize technology will complement MTI’s breeding and germplasm programs, according to Dow AgroSciences president and CEO Jerome Peribere. Dow says the European Union (EU) planted 12 million hectares of corn last year, making it “one of the largest corn planting regions in the world.” The Duo Maize technology will help Dow build its silage and corn grain...
