The U.S., the world’s largest activated carbon market, is set to grow at more than 15%/year to almost 690,000 m.t. in 2014. “This optimistic outlook is based on anticipated new federal environmental regulations mandating mercury removal at coal-fired power plants,” Freedonia says.
