DSM Chairman Calls for Tougher Carbon Trading Regulation

The carbon trading market, which is widely expected to expand after the Copenhagen climate summit meeting next month, should be more tightly regulated, says Feike Sijbesma, DSM’s chairman. “Carbon trading irritates me,” Sijbesma told journalists at a briefing in London yesterday evening. His main beef with the carbon market is that it needs more regulation to ensure that traders and speculators do not have control of solutions to climate change so that the presence of market “bubbles,” which could damage the smooth market...
