DOJ Completes PFOA Investigation of DuPont; Will Not Seek Criminal Charges

The U.S. Department of Justice will not pursue criminal charges against DuPont for the company's research and use of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) at its Parkersburg, WV facility, DuPont says. DOJ has confirmed this information but would not provide further details on the investigation. DOJ's environmental crimes division served DuPont with a grand jury subpoena on May 17, 2005 ordering the company to produce documents on PFOA. The subpoena requested that DuPont provide DOJ with documents previously produced to EPA, and other documents related to PFOA. Concerns...
