DIC Reports Huge Rise in Profits

DIC Corp. has recorded a net profit of ¥12.2 billion ($149 million) for the fiscal first half ended September 30, 2010, compared with a net profit of ¥564 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. Sales increased about 9%, to ¥393 billion. For the second quarter ended September 30, DIC reported net profits of ¥6.2 billion, compared to net profits of about ¥400 million in the year-ago period.
