Clariant raises second-quarter sales and earnings, confirms targets

Clariant today reported a 29% increase in second-quarter net profit, to 71 million Swiss francs ($76.2 million), on sales from continuing operations up 2%, at SF1.54 billion, compared with the year-earlier quarter. The company cites higher Ebitda and lower costs, which more than offset higher taxes, as the reasons for the improvement in its net result. Growth was due to higher volumes.
