Clariant Acquires Canadian Oil Services Firm Prairie Petro-Chem

Clariant has acquired Prairie Petro-Chem (Estevan, Saskatchewan), an oil services firm, for an undisclosed sum. Clariant says the acquisition expands its North American activities and significantly enhances its presence in the Bakken Shale, which is expected to become a leading oil and gas producing region in North America. Prairie Petro-Chem, established in 1969, serves the oil and gas industry from its Saskathewan sites at Estevan, Weyburn and Oxbow; and Virden, Manitoba.
