Clariant says the acquisition expands its North American activities and significantly enhances its presence in the Bakken Shale, which is expected to become a leading oil and gas producing region in North America. Prairie Petro-Chem, established in 1969, serves the oil and gas industry from its Saskathewan sites at Estevan, Weyburn and Oxbow; and Virden, Manitoba.
