Ciba Evaluates Plans for Paper Chemicals, Publishing Inks Businesses; Plans JV and Acquisitions for Plastic Additives and Coatings Effects

Ciba Specialty Chemicals says it is evaluating options for its paper business and its publication inks business. The company says it is also in the process of planning a joint venture to expand its plastics additives capabilities in the Middle East, as well as acquisitions to bolster its coatings effects division. The jv and acquisitions are scheduled for the third quarter, Ciba says.
