World News and Views :: Top of the News K2010: Chemtura Rebrands Flame Retardants Under Great Lakes Name4:40 AM MDT | October 28, 2010 | Robert Westervelt in Düsseldorf Chemtura has renamed its flame retardants and brominated products business as Great Lakes Solutions. Chemtura unveiled the new name this week at the K2010 plastics exhibition in Düsseldorf. The business formerly operated as Great Lakes Chemical and that name was dropped in 2005 when Crompton acquired Great Lakes and adopted the Chemtura name for the combined company. “The Great Lakes Solutions name builds on our strong heritage,”Anne Noonan, president of Great Lakes Solutions.
