Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 10.2%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 10.2% year-on-year for the week ended December 24, to 40,782 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 14% to 29,094 cars. Canadian traffic fell 0.9%, to 10,522 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 34.6%, to 1,166 cars.
