Cefic Revises Downward 2011 EU Chemicals Forecast

Growth in EU chemicals production in 2011 is predicted to be 2.5% for the 27 EU member states, excluding pharmaceuticals, Cefic said today. The updated forecast comes from Cefic's Economic Task Force, which put together a summary forecast of chemicals sector economists. Cefic said in November 2010 that chemicals output growth would be 2.5% in 2011 but in June 2011it revised the forecast growth to 4.5%.
