World News and Views :: Top of the News Cabot JV Breaks Ground on Carbon Black Plant in China12:07 AM MDT | April 18, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Cabot and joint venture partner Risun Chemicals (Beijing), a wholly owned subsidiary of Risun Coal Chemicals Group, have broken ground on the previously announced new carbon black manufacturing facility at Xingtai, China. Cabot and Risun are investing a total of about $140 million in the new facility, and Cabot owns a 60% stake in the jv. The project, which was announced in March 2011, is expected to be completed in mid-2013. The new facility will have a phase I manufacturing capacity of 130,000 m.t./year of carbon black, and will enable Cabot to increase its...
