Cabot JV Breaks Ground on Carbon Black Plant in China

Cabot and joint venture partner Risun Chemicals (Beijing), a wholly owned subsidiary of Risun Coal Chemicals Group, have broken ground on the previously announced new carbon black manufacturing facility at Xingtai, China. Cabot and Risun are investing a total of about $140 million in the new facility, and Cabot owns a 60% stake in the jv. The project, which was announced in March 2011, is expected to be completed in mid-2013.
