Braskem to collaborate with methane-to-ethylene startup Siluria

Siluria Technologies (San Francisco), a startup developing catalyst technology to convert natural gas into ethylene and fuels, announced today that Braskem is funding construction of a demonstration plant for Siluria's oxidative coupling of methane (OCM)technology at its La Porte, TX facility. Braskem’s support of the unit includes the provision of the site, operational services and capital infrastructure, which are expected to provide Siluria with cost savings over the life of the agreement in excess of $50 million.
