World News and Views :: Top of the News Braskem Plans Polypropylene Upgrade at La Porte, TX9:38 AM MDT | September 24, 2010 | Kara Sissell Braskem America says it will invest $40 million in its U.S. polypropylene (PP) business through 2011, upgrading facilities’ infrastructure, and integrating business processes with parent company Braskem. Braskem has allocated more than $35 million for upgrading manufacturing assets, and $15 million of that will go to the company’s La Porte, TX site, which “will play a key role in supporting the growth of Braskem’ America’s overall business.” Modifications at La Porte will expand capacity of its more modern Spheripol technology...
