Braskem Expected to Detail Plans Soon for U.S. Acquisition

Brazilian polyolefins producer Braskem (São Paulo) is expected to detail plans for its long anticipated U.S. acquisition by early February, says Polyolefins Consulting (No. Brunswick, NJ). Braskem recently announced its merger with rival olefins producer Quattor, and said that deal would not affect prior plans for an acquisition in the U.S. "Braskem is said to be looking at buying assets from Dow Chemical, Sunoco Chemicals or the Ineos Group.
